Kashu Kyomitsu Nendoroid Review

Kashu Kyomitsu Nendoroid Review Image 1

Yet another web game has taken the figure community by storm! Created by the same team behind the personified warship game popularly known as Kancolle, Touken Ranbu is a game about swords—swords who become bishounen through the power of the player. Part card collecting and part sheer luck, the game has hit just as hard as its predecessor Kancolle did, and that means more figures! And one of the first to come out is the subject for this month’s review: Nendoroid Kashu Kyomitsu!

Subdued Figures: Nendoroid Tomoyo Daidouji Review

Nendoroid Tomoyo Daidouji Review Image 1

The release of Nendoroid Sakura last years appears to have started a flood of Cardcaptor Sakura releases! The majority are still of the title character, but the Nendoroid line branched out once again with the release of Sakura’s best friend and fashion consultant, Tomoyo Daidouji!

Subdued Figures: Nendoroid Mako Fight Club Specialized Two-Star Goku Uniform Version

Nendoroid Mako Goku Uniform Version Image 1

Happy WonFes weekend everyone! If you follow Japanese figurine news, this weekend is the Summer Wonder Festival, where figure companies, manufacturers, and hobbyists who create garage kits put their new and upcoming products out for display to generate excitement from the collector community! So if your Twitter or Tumblr feeds have more pictures of Figmas, Nendoroids, and Alter scales than usual, that’s why!

Good Smile Company and Max Factory also sell and except pre-orders for event exclusive figures during WonFes, some of which only continue to be available at conventions. One such exclusive was actually sold first at Anime Expo this year, and I got one for my own collection!

This month’s review will be on Nendoroid Mako Fight Club Specialized Two-Star Goku Uniform Version!

Subdued Figures: Nendoroid Snow Miku 2014 Ver. Review

Nendoroid Snow Miku 2014 Review Picture 1

Good Smile Company's Wonder Festival exclusive figures have become a tradition over the last few years, and it seems like the figures keep getting more elaborate as well! I'd successfully dodged the temptation to get a Snow Miku exclusive in the past, but this year GSC hit my weak point with a magical girl design! Now she's bringing in a little bit of winter to end my summer, so this month's review will cover the 2014 version of Nendoroid Snow Miku!

Subdued Figures: Nendoroid Mikasa Ackerman Review

Nendoroid Mikasa Ackerman Review Picture 1

Following the insane success of last year's anime adaptation, releases of Attack on Titan figures have started in the last couple months and will continue on into the forseeable future. GSC was one of the first to jump on the bandwagon with a Nendoroid version of the Colossal Titan, and the series line continues with Mikasa Ackerman!

Nendoroid Naegi Makoto Review Image 1

The first figure review of the year! I don't know about you guys, but parts of my 2013 kinda sucked, so I'm trying to bring in some extra good luck wherever I can. I think I'm starting off on the right foot with my first Nendoroid of the new year, Naegi from Dangan Ronpa!

It's the last figure review of the year! Is it just me, or did 2013 go by really fast? Anyway, I'm wrapping up the year with a Christmas present to myself: Saber from the PSP game Fate/Extra!

This month's review is a bit of a special occasion, since this is the first time I've covered a figure that's not widely available yet! I picked up Madoka Maiko Ver. during my weekend at Anime Expo, and I'm really pleased with her.

Nendoroid Ultimate Madoka Review

Nendoroid Ultimate Madoka Review Image 1

Since it first finished airing two years ago, merchandise from the breakout magical girl hit Madoka Magica has continued to roll in with no signs of stopping soon. Of course, figures count towards a good portion of this number, with many figure companies offering their take on the five magical girls, covering everything from small trading figures to huge scaled models.

The last few months in particular have been dominated by GSC's and Max Factory's releases of Ultimate Madoka figures (a.k.a. Godoka or Madokami). Starting with the amazing 1/8 scaled figure back in December and following up with a Figma this past March, the current Godoka offerings are wrapping up (for now) with the release of this beautiful Nendoroid.

Nendoroid Taneshima Popura Review

Nendoroid Taneshima Popura Review Screenshot 1

Occasionally you run across a figure that is absolutely perfect within its product line because of its representation of the character. Nendoroid Taneshima Popura from Working!! is one of those figures. A small scale suits her best, don't you think? Sorry, Popura.

Nendoroid Yune Review

Nendoroid Yune Review Image 1

Ikoku Meiro no Croisée wasn't the most popular show when it aired, which is a shame. Questionable historical accuracy aside, it was a pretty show with some memorable characters. However, I admit that I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it so much if it weren't for the sweetness of the main character Yune, now available in Nendoroid form!

Nendoroid Kaito Cheerful JAPAN! Support Ver. Review

Nendoroid Kaito Review Picture 1

After the events of the the Kanto-Tohoku Earthquake in March of last year and its aftermath, many charity efforts were created to collect money to aid the victims of the disaster. One of these was Good Smile Company's Cheerful JAPAN! line, with pre-orders for figures running over the last year and part of the proceeds going to the areas where help is need. I love a good charity, so I couldn't resist getting at least one of them! So without further ado, here's Nendoroid Kaito, Cheerful JAPAN! Support Version!
