OH MY GOD IT'S AN ANIME MUSICAL!
For a minute I thought that the opening was a fluke since it felt exactly like a musical overture. But then the main character started singing about her normal high school life and the student council also sang songs to introduce themselves, which made it clear what this show was going for. As a result, I had a big silly grin on my face for most of this episode.

The rest of it is pretty campy, but since it's billing itself as an anime musical I do not mind that in the slightest. I'm really glad that I decided to watch this!
