K is back and shiner than ever!

When I was taking screenwriting classes, the professor mentioned at one point that when making a sequel it's best to give returning fans what they came for as soon as possible. K does this by devoting its first nine minutes to an insanely animated flashback fight scene that focuses on fan favorites.

And then suddenly boobs
While there have been T&A shots in K previously, the Serinuma fanservice went above and beyond anything it's done before. Considering that the people who will be watching this are fans who've seen the first season and the movie, and also that K isn't known for doing fanservice shots like this in the first place, I'm not sure who this was aimed at...

The rest of the episode is gorgeous, but like the previous installments, your milage may vary. I haven't done a direct comparison, but it feels like they've turned up a filters a bit more and there's lens flare everywhere.

This episode also officially introduced the Green clan, and it looks like we've got another take on Internet culture. This episode did a great job of establishing a lot of plot threads to follow in this season in a pretty short amount of time if you consider the first bit to just be eye candy. In any case, I'm really happy that this is back on TV! Is it next week yet?
