Thoughts on the Aniblog Tourney

Safebooru Fanart Image

My match was over a week ago, and while I was planning to get this post up a bit after the poll closed, school and real life got in the way. But I still want to share my thoughts on the experience, now that it's over.

Like I said in my first post about the Tourney, last time I was still just a lurker. That my blog, which turned a year old as the voting was underway, was able to make it to round three without huge amounts of drama is amazing to me. Despite the problems surrounding the match of a certain unnamed blog and comments that the entire thing was rigged against newcomers, I had a great experience with the Aniblog Tourney. I found a metric ton of great new blogs to read, got some awesome feedback, and I can tell from my stats that some people decided to stick around, which is probably the best part.

So I'd like to give a big thank you to everyone that voted for this blog. I've learned a lot about what works and what doesn't and where I would like to take it in the next year. If all goes according to plan, Subdued Fangirling will be an even stronger blog going into next year's Tourney. I hope that you all will stick around for the ride.

  1. You're claiming the source of the image of your blog entry is a site that takes images from other sites where the creator uploaded them.

  2. ...and a great 'morning after' image. You can be proud of third-round status. Looking forward to making your blog part of the Chihayafuru Season 2 Taichi V. Arata experience - and I encourage you to watch first season of Moyashimon, cause I'd love to see you blog the upcoming 2nd season.

Because that's where I found it? There isn't a pixiv link or anything else, so I can't source that. If you know where it came from originally, I'll be happy to update the link.

Thanks a lot! And heck yeah I'm blogging Chihayafuru Season 2. I don't know if I'll get to Moyashimon in time to blog the next season, but you'll be hearing about it when I do! :D

  4. Saucenao.com is very successful in finding the Pixiv source if it's from that site. TinEye, Google, and Bing offer reverse image searching.

I'll make sure to use the sources you mentioned from here on out though!
