We're still in flashback mode, but just because the characters are in grade school doesn't mean that this show can't bring the drama.

Summer 2011 Final Impressions

With the Fall 2011 season now underway, I'd like to reflect for a moment on the shows that I watched over the summer but didn't blog on a weekly basis. Better late than never, right? Summer was the first full anime season that I've blogged, since I started back in May during the Spring 2011 season. I'd like to think that I've become a better blogger over that period of time. Anyway, this post is as spoiler-free as possible, so don't worry about reading a review for a show you haven't seen yet. Please keep in mind that the following is based off of my own personal opinion. Feel free to respectfully disagree with me in the comments.

There's a little more going on in this episode than in the first one, but not by much. Still no blond kid.

Dantalian no Shoka Episode 12--Out With a Bang (Final Thoughts)

Apologizes for this post being absurdly late. I think that the internet in my dorm has a vendetta against me. Anyway, holy crap was this a good episode.

Chihayafuru Episode 1--Who Needs Ninja Stars

My concerns about karuta being a boring premise for a show are gone now.

Kimi to Boku. Episode 1--Cats Make Everything Better

Even if it was just a ploy to keep the viewer interested, I love cats, so it worked for me.

And we're off! Although there are less titles than the summer season, there are plenty of shows floating around that look interesting. So without further ado, here's my seasonal first impressions post based on the premiere episodes of the simulcast shows I plan to watch. Please keep in mind that the following is only my opinion and that it is subject to change during the season. This post will be updated as more series become available/as I watch them.

Hanasaku Iroha Episode 26--A New Beginning (Final Thoughts)

That yakisoba man is a genius. Not only did he read the mood correctly, but he also delivered the food at the perfect moment. That's just one of many things I loved about this episode.
