During the opening scene, I groaned inwardly when I realized that this episode was going to focus on Yuki again. I get it, he's lazy and apathetic. This running joke has been beaten to death. The first few minutes of this show were almost verbatim to the conversation in the very first episode of the first season when they were trying to find him a club. However, I was pleasantly surprised when this episode actually worked.

In fact, the whole thing played out like an episode of Working!!, which isn't a bad show to emulate when your episode takes place in a a family restaurant (in my own opinion). It even had the gangster boss! Anyway, this episode thankfully didn't just rely on Yuki to carry the entire episode and instead went back to its usual method of having the boys bounce off each other. While the romance is definitely the best that Kimi to Boku has to offer, I have to admit that I missed this side of the show.

This episode also had a great setup that confined the boys to one area instead of having them wander around everywhere, as this show frequently lets them do. Watching them frantically trying to recreate a mixed juice drink using only what was available at the generic drink bar was pretty funny. And while I saw the ending of the scene with the blender coming a mile away ("Don't forget the lid. The lid. THE LID"), sometimes the expected outcome is the best.

Who knows. Maybe this will be the event that finally causes Yuki to realize that he can't just drift around and expect everything to work out, or at least have Yuta take care of it. The whole ordeal would've bee faster and relatively painless if he'd just admitted his mistake and gotten a replacement drink. ...Of course, it would be less funny, but I think I've made my point. I'd like to see just a little character growth in Yuki, since this season has apparently taken a liking to him. Or maybe this season just wants to use him as a comedy crutch. We'll see.

Current tally: Six (6) Episode(s) without Shun in drag, five (5) consecutive, one (1) where he does not appear at all.
