Summer 2012 Preview

Ah, summer; a time of surf, sun, and getting through the extensive anime backlog that I built up over the last year. I really need to start making a dent in that thing. Anyway, the summer season is notorious for having...lesser quality shows than is usually standard, and coming off of a really great season this lineup has its work cut out for it. Regardless, I found a good number of shows that I'm interested in anyway. What will your watchlist look like this season?

This preview does not include: upcoming movies, OVA's, special episodes, sequels to shows that I have not seen the first season of (when seeing the first season is necessary to understand the plot), "kids" shows that I do not intend to watch, shows where there is little to no information available, re-releases, and shows intended to be shown on mobile platforms in Japan (such as cell phones).

Nendoroid Yune Review

Ikoku Meiro no Croisée wasn't the most popular show when it aired, which is a shame. Questionable historical accuracy aside, it was a pretty show with some memorable characters. However, I admit that I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it so much if it weren't for the sweetness of the main character Yune, now available in Nendoroid form!

Tsuritama Episode 7--Family Issues

I would like to take a moment to appreciate how hilariously appropriate Akira's umbrella is.

I think he would've been better off just asking for another kiss.

Kimi to Boku. 2 Episode 6 & 7--Talkin' 'Bout Real Love

Between my computer randomly breaking down and school being school, I didn't have time to get last week's post out. So this week is a double post instead! Thankfully, both of these episodes deal with a similar theme...love! Also, a free internet to whoever correctly guesses what I'm referencing in the title.

Tsuritama Episode 5--We're On A Boat

This episode made me really happy, like "I can't stop smiling because I'm glad that they're glad" happy.

We're Experiencing Some Technical Difficulties

On Sunday, the graphics processor on my four-year-old Macbook Pro died. I haven't lost anything, since I frequently back up the hard drive, but I'll be without a computer for a few days while it gets fixed. Until then, I won't be on the internet as much as I usually am. The usual episodic posts should be up at the end of the week if all goes as planned. Hopefully I'll se you all then, and remember to always back up your computers!

Subdued Fangirling Has Made it to Round Two!

I meant to get a post up about this after the first round, but like many people, school has been taking over my free time. I'm barely able to keep up with my episodic posts (even though that's only twice a week) and I still need to finish some review posts from last season... But enough about the stuff I have to do! I'm really happy that I managed to make it through the first round. I've found a ton of new blogs to read and have gotten some great feedback! Thanks to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts about this blog.

I don't know how much farther I'll make it in the Tourney; I mean, my opponent Rednights has been at this a lot longer than I have, and I've already had a great experience thankfully devoid of drama so I can't say that I would mind if my bid ended here. However, if any of you looking at this blog for the second time need a reason to vote for me... Subduded Fangirling's first anniversary is tomorrow! And it would be all the sweeter if I had a win at the end of the day...
